Hi, I’m Rachel! I'm the maker behind The Silver Clay Collection and I am a qualified silver clay jewellery artist. I work predominantly with silver clay, designing and making delicate pieces in fine silver, but I also incorporate other jewellery making techniques and pre-formed elements to create beautiful pieces of jewellery.
I make my jewellery in my dedicated workshop in Berkshire and I take my inspiration from the simple pleasures found in nature: delicate leaves, organic textures, flowers, birds, bees and the quiet beauty found outdoors. Each piece I make is designed to be simple, meaningful and wearable every day — a small reminder to keep nature close.
My jewellery-making journey began as a distraction from grief, an unhealthy relationship with alcohol, and depression. What started as a way to quieten my mind and get through some difficult days gradually grew into something much more meaningful. Somewhere along the way, I discovered not just a love of creating beautiful things, but the beginnings of a more fulfilling, creative and intentional life. Like the changing seasons, I've come to understand that life is full of endings, new beginnings and opportunities to grow, often in the most unexpected ways. Those experiences find their way into the jewellery I make, with each piece carrying a little reminder of change, hope and resilience. And perhaps the loveliest part is knowing that when something I've made leaves my hands and reaches yours, we're each walking our own path, but in some small way, we're walking it together.
Each piece of jewellery I make is carefully handcrafted with intention and attention to detail. My hope is that the pieces I create become more than simply something beautiful to wear, but gentle reminders of how far we've come, the strength we find along the way, and the possibility of change, growth and new beginnings.
I hold the highly regarded Art Clay Diplomas (Levels 1 and 2) and have completed and passed the Jewellers Academy Diploma in Silver Metal Clay.
